Precision Hovering

Allows The Mavic pro to locate itself in the sky more accurately than ever, making it even easier to fly

As it hovers in the air Mavic pro communicates with the GPS(global positioning system) and GLONASS(global navigation system satellite networks).combining GPS and GLONASS Mavic pro connects up to 20 satellites in space that help the drones maintain a precise position. However, there are times when flying indoors are beneath objects that the Mavic pro cannot connect to the satellites.

HOW DOES PRECISION HOVERING WORK IN THESE SITUATIONS :

The Mavic pro is equipped with an optical flow system consisting of cameras and dual ultrasonic sensors, The ultrasonic sensors use sound waves to provide altitude information by, measuring the distance between the aircraft and the surface below. Working together with the optical flow system are the Mavic pros dual forward vision sensors. These additional sensors allow the Mavic pro to see obstacles in 3D, Increasing position accuracy to 2-3x that of an optical system alone.
